Message: I am thinking of putting a converter in my '00 QC 4.7.
Has anyone done this? What converter to use?

Message: Are you talking about a higher RPM stall? Unless you use it totally for racing, you want a stock one. Fuel millage in town is gone with a high RPM converter. Most racers go with a 2500 stall. Not so good with a street driver in my opinion.

Message: I have a 3000 stall on my firebird and it didnt make that much of a
mileage difference compared to stock. It really depends alot on
how well its built. Plus most people doing those kinds of mods are
not looking for the best mileage anyway.

Message: If you tow, check with the manufacturer that the stall speed is going to be OK with towing, some of the converters are noted as "not for towing". Higher stall creates more heat and the added load of towing can overheat and break down the fluid. I had a 3000 stall (not in a Dakota) and towing was out of the question, but it was FUN!
