Never tried the 10s as they are Race Mufflers... But I have Flowmaster 40 with no Cat on my 91 3.9L its pretty loud and has a very nice idle tone although you may not have much money to play with its best to take time with your mods and really research all options as its costly if you wish to change your mind at a later date... I'd suggest you just save up and get a high flow cat and a 40series (while not race mufflers they are very notorious for being very loud) and maybe some headers they should help muscle up the tone aswell as add some ponies. If you dont have the money just yet dont wing it, save up and get 'er done up right and made to last.

If your truck is pretty much stock you are probably better with 1 muffler and it splitting.
true duels will sound better. You will lose some of your low end torque.

10 series single chamber flowmasters are nice. They should be plenty loud enough for you. And like jasonc said if your motor is still stock then you will be better off to split the exhaust after one muffler. It won't loose as much low end power and it is also more cost efficient.

i thought the loudest you could get was straight pipes? if loud is what you're after, why use a muffler at all?

Too bad lot of people are more interrested in having a vehicle that 'sounds' faster or more powerfull than it really is.

There's an appreciable difference between a loud exhaust and a good sounding (and possibly better flowing) one.

What is wrong with having a truck that sounds nice? Just because my truck can't make 400hp like she sits doesn't mean she can't sound good making the 250hp that she does have. For some of our trucks going fast isn't the first priority.
