Subject: Changing the A/C Drier IP: Logged
Message: Can someone pass along a tip on seperating the hoses from the drier on a 99 Dak V8. I have taken the clips off but am now stumped.

Message: go to the auto parts store and get the plastic 4 piece set of quick disconnects (each one is a differnet color and does a differnet size hose). Around $10 for the set. I found the plastic ones to be much better than the metal scissor type quick disconnect.
The clamps are for added security in keeping the hoses together.

Message: You just wrap that disconnect tool around the hose, push it inside the joint to release the connection mechanism and hold it there while you pull the 2 hoses apart.
It's very easy to do with the plastic disconnect tools. You'll wind up using 2 of them as the in and out hoses are 2 differnet sizes.
I'm assuming you've already evac'd the system of course.

Message: oh yeah, be sure to replace the o-rings with new ones when you install the new dryer.
