Subject: Use Motorcraft FL1A oil filter on 4.7L ? IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know if an Motorcraft FL-1A oil filter would work OK on an 4.7L motor? I'd like to use this slightly longer Oil filter as long as it will meet the factory oil filter specifications-but, with the added benifit of more dirt holding capacity as well as a little bit more total oil capacity?

Message: to be sure check and see if it crosses with a baldwin b2 which works too(larger version of the b34 stocker).

Message: I have a 2002 Quad Cab and there are some lines that pass under the oil filter-but just by eye, it looks like the longer Fl-1A oil filter would clear these lines? However, with the normal rocking motion of the 4.7L engine during running in normal driving, will the FL-1A oil filter still not hit anything? My Quad Cab is a 4 x 2 wheel drive. I just want to be sure that there won't be any fitment problems with the larger FL-1A oil filter? Please comment? Thanks!

Message: Have an 01 blk motorsport dak and have used the FL1a filter for years. Clears everything and you get an extra half quart of oil to circulate. Works fine.
