Message: It looks great. I don't care for the plastic window vents and hood deflector.
The license plate number is within 300 of mine. They must have been originally purchased near the same time...
Good luck. With what other goodies did it come equiped? I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Message: I say each to their own as far as the cap and bug deflectors go. Heck, they actually have a PURPOSE unlike many other pieces of trim added these days!
Anyway, that's one clean Dakota and I don't see anything wrong with it as it sits. :)

Message: Wow,
That looks almost exactly like my QC, with a leer cab high top. White over silver, etc. MInes an 01 SLT.
But mine does not have the deflectors, of duals out under the bumper.
Trailer Towing, tire and Handling though.

Message: I appreciate everyone's compliments! Yes, this Quad Cab looks like it's going to be a good Dakota? My only worry is the fact that the brakes on these trucks aren't that good in terms of reliability! However, at least, I'm glad to have the larger rear drums with the optional towing package on this truck! And, it appears that the rear drum brakes have been kept adjusted-good!
I don't know if I just got one of the better performing 4.7L motors-or, if this motor had just been correcty broken in? However, even with three people in the truck this QC with really move good-as it will throw us back in the seat firmly under accelleration! I had thought that with only 4.7 liters, and being such a heavy truck, would have caused this Dakota to be a slug in performance(Or, a snail!)but, I'm astounded with it's responsiveness(Knock on wood!)? And, the dual exhaust has a beautiful tone to it under acceleration! And, as GraphiteDak had said, all of the added useful accessories(The front bug shield, tinted window shades and the Leer camper shell)serve a very useful purpose and work very well(Thanks!)!
Although the acceleration of this 4.7L Dakota can't compare with my other truck(An 1969 SS 396 El Camino(502 Cu. In./450HP!)it still feels good and sounds good! I'm happy to be a member of this fine forum and to have met all of you nice fellow members!

Message: BlackKotalac:
The dual exhaust system sounds like an 1960's high winding fuel injected 327 Corvette at full throttle! It sounds deep and throaty but very much like two harmonious trombones in perfect bass tones! The muffler is an Walker Dynomax Super Turbo with a single 3-inch inlet and with dual 2-1/2" outlets. The 4.7L motor breaths very well with this setup!

Message: LSD and 3.92 gears were both separate options - not included in the SLT package. Standard only for the R/T model.
