MY 98 dodge dakota 4x4 5.2 a/t, tuff country 5.5 lift, 33 bfgs, 3.55 gears, no cat, magna flow exhaust, electric fan, flow tech headers,101,000 miles, will jump rpm's. For example i will be driving crusing at 60 mph with the o/d on. rpms will be at 1650 then all of a sudden jump to 1900 rpm. now i know the truck is still in o/d and is not shifting to 3rd. when this happens i just lighty let off the gas and then press back down to where it was. the rpms will go back at 1650 but then a few minutes later same problem happens again. i have already changed tps sensor, no fix. Does any body have an idea what might be the problem?

Have you thought about and tested the Vehicle speed sensor?

ya i did think about that.. the spead sensor is located on the rear diff?... i read somewhere you can remove it and clean it off.. such as debris and metal shavings or just simply replace it.
