Message: I have a 2001 4.7 QC AWD Auto 3.55 and mine does the same thing. Sometimes, when I'm stopped with my foot lightly on the brake, it will even make my truck move forward a little. It's done it at red lights, drive-through's, really freaks me out when it happens. It's kinda like someone just feathers the gas a little. It moves about 500 rpms, and at totally random times.

Message: Could be a problem with Idle Air Control, but it's likely the IAC is responding to bad input from the TPS.

Message: I had the same problem, even the check engine light came on and off intermitently.
It was the power steering pressure sensor. The one located in the line close to the power steering pump that make the RPM go up when you turn the wheels all the way .
The only cheap fix ($25) out of many in my Dakota 2000.
