Subject: Surging when driving! IP: Logged
Message: hey guys. i have a problem with my 99 dakota sport with a 5.2 in it. its an auto transmission and when i drive downt he road and usually when i hit a little bump the rpms increase by a couple hundred and then go back down and it drives me crazy. it usually only does it when warm and then i also have a problem becuase when it gets below maybe 3-5 degrees here and i start my truck in the morning it wont shift into overdrive until it warms up a bit. any ideas? i have heard a tps sensor would fix my surge but what about the non shift? plenty of fluid and its nice and red and no problems. thansk alot!

Message: Trans will not go into OD until the trans temp gets up to (I think) 45 degrees.
The surge may be a wire problem?
