I have a 93 318 4x4. I don't have any pressure in my coolant system. I can drive the truck for an hour and there is no pressure built up in the system. there isn't any leaks I have replaced the cap. I'm not sure what else the problem can be. the head gaskets are fine.
any help would be a great help
Thank you

If you're checking at the overflow bottle, it's normal not to have pressure there.
If you're checking by trying to squeeze the (hot) coolant hose between engine and radiator after the engine is up to operating temp, that's not normal.

Try replacing the thermostat. I had the same problem on my old s10 I had. The thermostat was not working. It was not allowing the coolant to flow through.

Hot water expands. If the system is closed, the hot water will expand and create pressure. If not, then the water isn't getting hot, or the system isn't closed.

How do you know there's no pressure in there when the engine is hot? The only way to know is to take the cap off. If you're suddenly drenched in boiling water that causes severe 2nd degree burns, the system is OK.

If you're a safety nut, and boiling away your skin doesn't appeal to you, you can get a pressure tester for the system. Places like Autozone and Pep Boys often loan them for free. They are cheap and do the job well. But there's no screaming, flashing red lights, or ambulance rides involved.
