Subject: Dakota 5.9 performance IP: Logged
Message: So far I have added, Mesa headers and high flow cat, flowmaster series 40 muffler 3" in dual 21/4 out(this will soon be replaced by true dual exhaust once I get the mufflers I want) I already have the converters, you need them for your truck to run properly, believe me I would love to cut them out completly if I could, Jet stage 2 chip, ram air hood, 180 deg stat, ASP underdrive pullys, 24# bal injectors, Bilstien shocks, K & N filter. These mods have made a notable gain in performance, but NOTHING can compare to a total rebuild and blueprinting of the mopar 360 it responds very well to even the mildest of engine block/head mods (in the works) which can be somewhat costly but worth it because whipping rustangs and cambarlygos is well worth it

Message: I'm currently in process of a 5.9 swap into my 96 3,9 2wd I have the computer out of the 97 ram the engine was taken from. motor has 78k on it I am debating many things on the motor build up, definitely doing some head work, maybe different heads, unsure of what to do with the bottom end yet. My biggest concern is the value of a new intake, or just modding the stock I would appreciate help from any experienced in this type of deal, I just want to get the most bang for my buck out of this truck, but don't mind dropping a small chunk...
