plain and simple yes!
also can cause poor running engine and bad MPG's
do a google on EGR valve there is alot of info to be read
and dont just take it off and use a block off plate
replace it and you'll be a happier person

removing and blocking it off actualy hurts not help
you'll raise emissions and also lower your MPG's
also with a properly working EGR valve engines run better
mopar did away with them on certain yr Daks
but later brought them back
what does that tell you?
do a google, there is plenty to read
