Message: depends on what kinda power your looking for... do you plan on making intake improvements or not... like larger throttle body, different cam or cams and so on..... more free flowing you make your exhaust you can build more power with making the intake take more air in.... if you dont plan on intake mods then stock pipe size will do just fine

Message: Scott C, how do you feel about a 3 inch Y pipe on my 5.2? another guy said u dont want a big head pipe but i beg to differ. The bigger the better right? I mean I am running a set of edelbrock headers with 1 5/8" primary so why not run a 3 inch Y pipe?

Message: the only down side to a big 3inch y pipe is that on a stock 5.2 you lose some bottom end torque.... unless you plain on future intake mods like an M1 intake, p & p the heads, larger cam, bore and stroke the block and so on then yes a larger y pipe would be needed.... if you plain keeping the motor stock keep your stock y pipe
