To be honest, I've never had a problem dusting older Dak's with the 318. Maybe my 4.7 is a fast freak that gets great mileage to boot!

Sorry if i pissed you off Novadak, but its the truth, you will have to spend some money to get the 318 as fast as the 4.7 is stock. Heck i beat a couple of stock r/t's when i first got my 4.7 in 04, and she was still a bone stock one tire fryer. If you spend the same amount of money i have on my 4.7 on a 318 the 318 will probably be faster, but as i said i own 1 of each now and i stand by what i said i would much rather have the 4.7 in both of them.
Also i completely agree as long as its a v8 it will be a very fun investment! Hope you like the smell of tire smoke!

Whatever man. I really don't give a sh!t. I drove about 5 other 4.7 Dak before I got my 5.2, and none of them felt any quicker than my 5.2 was when it was stock. They're both good engines.
I don't know. The previous owner may have installed some internal parts that I don't know of (like a modded kegger intake) because my truck pulls all the way to 5200 without running out of breath like I heard some other 5.2's do. I really don't know.
But there's no point in arguing over this since it really doesn't matter. They're both Mopar V8 engines and that's what counts!

my 5.2 doesnt run out of breath at any rpm.
both engine produce the same power for the most part. so in my opinion if someone is saying one is WAY faster, its probably just the way they are driving it. All people, myself included, always want to make their crap seem better then anyone elses. Its just the way we work.

I think that often, when people think they are making engine comparisons, they can be unaware that a different rear gear will make a big difference. Probably don't even know what gears are in the trucks they are comparing. A little different hp and torque characteristics; but these engines have very similar peak #'s.

Yeah I know I have 3.91 POSI in my 5.2 Dak. I don't know what was in the ones I test drove. Probably a mix of 3.55 and 3.91, since some felt quicker off the line than others. One I'm sure had the death flash.
