Message: I just replaced the waterpump, and I think there's air in it. Is there a bleed screw somewhere, if not how else would you burp it?

Message: I usually just fill it up, run it to temp, and top it off. Dont forget to let it cool before you top it off. I saw some guy at autozone last summer burn the crap out of himself. It was friggin hilarious.

Message: You can also park after running it and getting it hot with the front end elevated higher than the rear. That allows the air pocket to move to the highest place which is typically the radiator.

Message: What symptoms are you having? I am also trying to diagnosis a "lack of cooling" problem on my 2000 5.9 R/T.
Mine never overheated, before I put in the ATI Procharger and the B&G computer flash. It runs fine, if I reset the ECU, and drive under 3/4 throttle. The temp stays level. If I rev it over say 4000 or to 5000, it sends the temp gauge north to where I must put it in neutral and coast down, near overheat?
I have let it cool, added fluid, etc.
I just installed a new Mopar thermostat today.
Once it overheats and then cools. The motor smokes gray smoke hard! If I reset the ECU, problem disappears. Doesn't seem to reappear, until heavy acceleration or high revs are encountered. Any suggestions would be helpful?
Why did you replace your water pump? Did your's seem to possibly cavitate at high RPM?

Message: The truck would slowly overheat, and after the temperature got over 210, I could hear a hissing noise around the waterpump, and steam would come from that area. That was all after I replaced the waterpump. Before I replaced the waterpump, I had coolant leaking everywhere. I never tried taking it down the road for a test until I got the problem fixed, so I wouldn't know about the rpms. I did find a solution though, the bypass hose connected to the waterpump wasnt holding pressure very well, making it where the coolant wouldn't flow. So I took everything back off and made sure the bypass hose was tightened and sealed. Afterwards I started it back up and it overheated again, so I let it cool off and then I took the radiator cap off and started it again, allowing it to burp and the coolant started flowing, and the truck is working again. (Except the A/C, when I turn it on the battery starts to drain.)If any of the information above is confusing in anyway be sure to repeat your question, (I'm tired and I probally made a few errors, or possibly left out some important details).
