Subject: what headers for 360? not magnum IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 dakota. I had a shop do the headers on my late 70’s 360 mopar. They went through 3 sets of headers (not my money don't really care) but on the 3rd set they bought them black, cut them up, and powder coated them and $350 later i put the transmission in and they hit the brake booster. A dummy 727 was in it when the headers where put in so there’s no excuse for him getting them wrong. The headers are made crazy the 3rd primary back is turned forward then bent up around backwards and it hits the brake booster. They have been beat in by the brake booster. I would like to know if there’s a set out there that can be bought. I am just going to beat the he!! out of them more to get them to fit but I want it to be very temporary. I want to get it running and moved but this truck was NOT built on a budget and the job on the headers make it look that way.
All forged, stroked and arp'ed...every last bolt. The only way the go!

Message: Hey, The headers I go tfo rmy 98 Dak are the $160 pair on ebay (watchout for negative feedback sellers). Although I haven't gotten them on my truck yet, they look like they may be close to the brake booster.
The #7 cylinder pipe comes forward then back down then back to the collector.
The #3 and 5 just go straight down to the collector.
The #1 just goes down and back.
I'm thinking the #1 and 7 are equal length as are #3 and 5. Same goes for the other side.
Word of caution! The ones I got were advertised as 1-5/8". They aren't, they are 1-7/16" OD, which could mean 1-3/8" ID. Good for truck basically stock.
My Desktop Dyno book says a "small tube header" has the primary tube 95 - 105% of the exhaust valve. The exhaust valve is 1.625" (1/5/8") so these headers I have would be classed as "smaller than small" tube headers.

Message: Hey if you want a perfect fitting header that makes it easy to get to ur starter , dont have to worry about fitment or warping. Then you want to buy a set of TTI headers. You can buy them from www.manciniracing.com I think but you have to be willing to fork over a few dollars. You may want to check out TTI's website to make sure you have what you need http://www.ttiexhaust.com/
