Subject: Rotors..OEM, slotted, cross-drilled???? IP: Logged
Message: I'm looking to replace the rotors on my 2000 Dakota Quad Cab. I was wondering what is the best out there...or which ones to stay away from. I tow in the summer time maybe once every other weekend 2.5K LBS.

Message: Use a quality OEM replacement. Much cheaper than the fancy slotted/drilled stuff, and will brake better in your application.
Be carefull about pad selection. SOme of the ceramics are not recommended for towing. Hawk SUV and Performance Friction carbon fiber are both excellent pads.

Message: DO NOT get crossdrilled rotors. They will crack easily when used on a daily driver. They are primarily used for racing where they can be replaced often. Not only that, but drilled rotors have less surface area than conventional and slotted rotors. However, slotted rotors will be a good choice. Powerslot rotors with hawk s/s pads are a proven combo for many dakota owners.

Message: There right. Go with regular OEM TYPE ROTORS but not from Dodge. I got mine at NAPA. They carry 2 price ranges. I got the best ones and I pull a boat, a 4 wheeler and haul a camper. My NAPAs have about 60 thousand on them and good as new.

Message: Good advice - I think mine came from Autozone, bendix rotors and pads maybe ? A definite improvement over stock.
