Message: There's one thing I've tried about the idling thing. Does it just
kinda die right after you start it? because this happened to my
dad's 1500. It may just be flooded and you have to give it a lot
of gas to flush it out. Here's what we did/what we were told to
do (it worked): leave the truck off, floor the pedal, then turn the
truck on. let it go to full throttle for a few seconds then let off.
IF it is flooded, that SHOULD flush out the gas. The way we were
told to do that was by a mechanic down our street, and he said
it's kinda like a reset thing for the fuel. Flushing the extra fuel in
the engine out or something. I dont know though about the
details and if I remember the technical stuff right. All I know is
that it worked. Turns out it was just flooded, and the RPM's my
dad was giving it before wasn't enough to flush the gas. But
flooring it, then letting off after a few seconds worked.

Message: you cant flood a fuel injected engine. its probably the throttle position sensor.

Message: Can't is a strong word. It is possible, just not likely. If the motor stumbles enough when it's cold, the injectors can pulse more fuel than the motor will burn. If the engine only fires once or twice and then dies and you happen to turn the key off and back on the motor thinks it needs an additional cold start squirt of fuel. If it stumbles again and doesn't fire, it'll probably be flooded after that.
I have seen this before.
Full throttle cranking trick will work almost every time.

Message: I do agree that it could be the TPS flaking out. If there is a speed sensor on the tranny, that could do it as well.
Does the truck throwing any CEL codes?
