Message:
The starter on my 4.7 needs to be replaced bacause the selonoid connector broke off. I removed the two starter bolts and the starter won't come off. There isn't alot of room so I can't tell if I am missing a bolt or something. As far as I can tell there is only two bolts and i pulled them. Help.............

from the manual it mentions:

certain transmissions & 4WD have a support bracket you have to remove for extra clearance

remove 1 bolt & 1 nut if equip. w/manual trans.
disconect battery

remove 2 bolts if auto transm.

move starter forward so node clears housing

do not let hang by wires harmess, support

tilt nose down just enough to remove nut
from positive cable connector & harness

Thanks for the info.

I think the manual info above is talking about making enough room to remove the starter from under the truck. I can't get the starter loose from the bell housing. My truck is two wheel drive and a manual trans. I removed the
"inspection shield" under the bell housing and looked up to make sure the starter wasn't engaged in the fly wheel teeth. Everything looked fine. THere is alot of corrosion and I think it might be frozen to the bell housing. It is acting like I didn't remove the two bolts holding it on.

Yes, I disconnected the battery. The manual is correct when is says the manual trans has 1 bolt and 1 nut holding the starter on.

I've have to be overlooking something....
