Hey, Just wanted to say it sure is good to be back. 7 month in the Persian Gulf on a ship is not fun.

Could have been worse. You could have been on the ground instead of a ship.

Welcome home shipmate. What ship were you on? Ships company or a squadron?

Hey Red99DakR/T, When you get a chance, do me a large favor? Start your truck and allow it to warm up. Then put your finger on the pcv valve and tell me if it's cycling/vibrating. I have a 2000 R/T. I have constant vaccum in and out of valve but I'm interested if this is normal ops or a fault. Thanks in advance.

Steve, I have constant pressure. IAW my book, you should have constant pressure. Take the PCV valve out and shake it, listen for a rattle. If it doesn't rattle, replace it. It should be replaced every 60k miles or 48 months. I have no pulsation. I hope that helps. Oh, I did take the hose off first and got the constant pressure, the funny thing was when I plugged it, my truck died. But not when I plugged the PCV Valve. Thought that was worth noting.

What is up with the rumor that they may reinstate the Draft? Heard anything about that?

Your typical roomer. Actually, I wish they would re-enstate the draft and get some of those rich kids out there out from Mama's apron strings. Send some of those Senator and Congressman Children in the line of danger, and don't leave out women....

It didn't work that way when they had the draft before - the rich and connected got college deferrmants or easy stateside National Guard duty like W if they do serve; with a few rare exceptions. I don't think they'll reinstate it, although they're dropping their standards and considering more foreigners in the military; many as a way to citizenship. I don't say this as an insult for those who bravely and patriotically choose to serve, but at some point those politicians who don't serve but only send others should understand that when they can't get enough volunteers it means the majority of the country isn't really behind some of their actions.

Red99DakR/T - glad you made it back ok.

The valve is new. It does rattle when shaken, and I have contant vacuum//pressure. Thanks for checking. I don't know why mine "vibrates" when the engine is running.
Hey Red99Dak.., If you ever get down to NAS JAX or Mayport, drop me an email. I'll give you a ride in an HH-60H Seahawk Simulator.
