depends of if you have a 5 speed or not. I'd say if they were both auto's it would be close and could go either way. But if you have a 5 speed and get a good launch and shift well you'll take him.

You have more hp and torque, but he has about 1/2 a ton less weight, and much better aerodynamics. If he has a 5 speed and you have an auto, I don't think you have much of a chance.
But, so what? Take him to the track and duke it out. Who knows, maybe he can't drive worth a darn. It will be fun.

we both have autos and i know that he isnt the best at car care 2weeks a go he ran out of gas after he said that he was running on E for a week he said that he doesnt do anything but dirve his care, he told me that it has like 77k on it and never had the tires changed

one of my friends has a 2000 3.8L Mustang with only minor mods but if hes got a 5-speed and you auto your probably gonna loose if hes even decent at driving a stick. if your both 5 speeds you might be able too but he has the power to weight ratio and unlike an import he has bottom end power too, if you got a r/c maybe you'd stand a better chance but he might smoke ya... but only way to find out is to race him.

we both have autos and i have a cc but i dont think that he isnt that smart and probaly willl spin the tires off the start but will he come back and still catch me i know how to get a good jump off the start and im pretty quick but i dont know how quick he is
