What is the standard gearing on a '02 SLT+ CC 4.7/auto? I know the 3.92s are optional... but if it doesn't have the 3.92s what does it have... 3.21 or 3.55?
I've gotten conflicting info at www.dodge.com when I attempt to "build" a Dak. Sometimes it says 3.21 sometimes 3.55.
Curious to know... thanks.

Get the 3.92 gears. It's the way to go on a 4.7. and it's only $50 more when you order a new truck. It will cost $500 + to do that on a 2wd and $1000+ to do that on a 4wd if you do it later.

3.55 comes with it, im pretty sure the only way to get 3.21 is to buy the 4 cyl with the manual its the only way i know of that u can get the them.

Actually, I think it's only 40 bucks, I still have my window sticker hanging in my room, hehe.
The 3.92s are SOOOO nice, you can not go wrong with these, GET THEM! It's nice to just take of easy loaded up with dirt or gravel -- I have no towed anything yet..
Unless you are just doing highway driving without towing, get the 3.92s...ask anyone in here, it isn't stressed enough.

Well... I've already ordered the truck and I did not order the 3.92s (which is why I wanted to know what I would be getting).
But the reason I didn't order the 3.92s was just as you said. I won't be doing a lot of hauling and pulling for the most part... just the occasional run to Home Depot or such. :-) I was a little more concerned about reducing the Dak's already notorious gas mileage! :-)
After reading what people have said here I might have done things differently if I could do it all over again... but I'm sure the 3.55s will be fine for me!!!!!
Anyway thanks for all the info.
