Message: When this has been reported in the past, we've found it was more of a reference to the HO manifold as 01Motorsport points out. "It will not improve '03 +" is to narrow a reference and can easily be taken out of context. In '03, they came up with a compromise design intake manifold that is used on both the regular and HO 4.7's. Before that, there were 2 distinctly different manifolds for the regular and HO 4.7. This is what we've found that has been a reference too in the past - you're not the first to be misled by it.

Message: So,now everything is clear.
Three mods are coming:H.O.cams ,shift kit,4,10 gears at the end(very pricy-two axles)Finally I quit thinking of C.A.I. and exhaust.I,m not a racer but daily driver.
Was drilling through the archives and found that cams cost double than 2-3 years ago.Pity.

Message: I sent an email to the contact link at BuyMopar.com and the answer I got was "03 non HO an up parts have been improved, you will not get that much of a increase in power."
So, it sounds like they're claiming that the '03 and up standard 4.7 engine was improved therefore, installing these cams won't get you as much gains as if you had an '02 or earlier 4.7 engine?

Message: THAT explains why my BUTT dyno didn't feel what other's butt dyno's did going to the H.O. Cams in my 2003!
I kinda wondered. When I used my micrometer (simple side one that is) I could tell no difference from the stock cams to the HO but assume some of the change would be in the cam timing itself which I could not measure.
I remember a guy on here doing the 206 cams without doing the "recommended' valve springs and reporting NO valve float and a noticable inclrease from those cams.
KRC claims the 206 cams are a noticable jump over the H.O. cams. Having 4.56 gars, I am tempted to go 206 or 212's some day.

Message: So,what makes H.O. engine different?
If air intake is the same, cams are the same, what has left?Springs only?different material of crankshaft?Do not think,it is possible to achieve 30hp difference.Hopefully there is real Dodge technician between us to answer this question. They can usually get internal info.
