Subject: loud clicking IP: Logged
Message: i have an 02 dakota r/t with a few mods (cam, intake manifold, throttle body, headers, exhaust, msd 6a, and chip) and it is giving me an o2 sensor fault on both cylinder banks...now when i shut the truck off it will either make a light click, a couple harsh clicks, or no clicks at all. when the truck is running the engine sounds mechanically fine and it drives perfectly fine. now what i think it is, is excess fuel still in the cylinder igniting, although it sounds like metal on metal, now i know it is quite vague but does anyone have any sort of idea what the problem could be?

Message: This is a tipical carbin problem. You got at least one cylender with a deposit that is gettng red hot. This alows the cylender to fire after you turn off the key and yes, they can knock loud at times. A good dose of seafoam down the intake and some in the gas tank should fix this. Trying to tell some of these problems on a computer is a guessing game at best. But this is a likely posibility.
So many problems .... So little time
