Subject: front seats... IP: Logged
Message: my driver and passenger seats in my 97 5.2l 4X4 ext cab Dak have a handle to lean the seats back... it works, but they let loose if u put too much pressure on the seats. an example being if i accelerate hard the seats will often lean back without lifting up the handle... is there a way to just tighten this, i too a breif look and didnt see a way... ne 1 else had this problem or have an idea how to fix it?

Message: Anything like a seat cover restricting the machanism from engaging fully ? If not, maybe the spring has become weak, or the engagement dog has become worn.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Message: Wow!!! My 97 does the same thing! Sometimes it pisses me off.
However, it sometimes doesn't do it. And then, when i'm lazy, i use
it to my advantage and jst lean back lightly so it makes me more
comfy...lol...but yeah...it's unsafe. lol.
