 Subject: V10 Viper Engine in a Dak

I overheard some guy saying that he was in the process of putting a V10 Viper Engine and tranny in an 01 Dakota. Assuming that he also gets a new computer, rear end, and is a master mechanic/fabricator, is this possible or is this guy all BS???

anything is possible if you want to put all the time and money into it. there would be alot of fabrication. firewall would have to be moved back.Gale Banks put a cummins in a dakota, and from what i hear the v10 is about the same length, but i wouldnt know about width. i would like to see it. better yet drive it. theres guys who have even put blown 454 bb chevys into pontiac Fierros. its just a matter of a fat wallet and a good fabricator, plus the time it takes .

Does any one happen to know how long the viper V10 is? I looked at the srt-10 pickup and a cummins pickup today and they both seem to be the same length. Dont quote me on it because im not sure about it. were could you get a viper V10 from? anyone know? ttyl

i put a2002v10 and trans in a 1984 dod d100 prospector. my
problem is the progaming of the main engine computer to get a
check engine lite so it will pass smog at ca. referee. any help in
this would be appreciated

Seems it would be an easy thing to connect an OBDII code reader to see what codes need fixing.
If you didn't use the wiring harness from the donor vehicle, there's gonna be some problems.
