i have an 46rh auto trans 3speed 4 counting overdrive wich doesnt work. i was planning on having it overbuilt and putting it back in but a ton off people think i should convert it over to 4 or 5 speed witch i would like but how much work is it and is it worth it?

Well on that year Dak you don't have to worry about any electronics. You just need to be good at some fabrication. If needed. You could get the entire clutch assembly from another Dak.
On a newer Dak with the 5-45RFE and one piece PCM/TCM I am sure the PCM would FREAK when the auto tranny was missing from the circuit!!!
