Message: I don't want to sound like a broken record, but would Engine Flush

Message: Get a can of Seafoam. Funny name, great product.
Go to the Seafoam website for some good info.
If you are concerned about what Bucket said, do this:
Flush with Seafoam according to directions.
Put in some cheap oil and cheap filter.
Run truck for an hour or so.
Change out cheap oil with good oil.
Nice clean engine!

Message: Once I had a Nissan 2.4L engine that had some deposits from the previous owner. I cleaned it out this way.
Went to Walmart and got three 5-quart jugs of 5W-30, 3 quarts of DextronIII, 2 cheapass oil filters and one good one (had to go to a different store for the good one).
Drained the oil and changed the filter.
Refilled with 50/50 mix of oil/DextronIII and ran it for 20 minutes. Idle only. Dextron is good hydraulic fluid, and loosens crud pretty good, but it's lousy engine lube.
Drained the oil and changed the filter.
Refilled with oil and ran it for 20 minutes.
Drained the oil again, to make sure I got most of the Dextron out, and put on the good filter.
Refilled with oil.
It didn't remove any of the varnish, but oh man, there was lots of crud come outa there.
