Now that its getting colder, Im having trouble with the drivers window powering down very slowly. Is this a lube problem or a motor getting ready to fail? Its an 01 (when the weather warms up it works OK).Thx.

When cold the rubber is probaly expanding. Roll it down and spray a good teflon lube on the seal. My 00 Durango is doing the same. When I sprayed it, it moves like normal now.

Could be an alignment problem. Mine was very slow until I had my window glass replaced and now it is fine.

I had this exact problem on my 2000 Dak EXT cab ... 3 times. First time, I ripped it all apart, lubed it and re-aligned it (It was slow like you mention and then eventually came off the track). That worked for about 2 weeks then started doing it again. I took it to the stealership and they did something, re-sealed and seated it they said. Cost me 75 bucks. That lasted about 5 months, then it started again. This time im leaving it...its f'ed. I'm really starting to find lately the fit and finish of the Dak isn't the best, things just arent holding up for a truck thats only 6 years old, with low mileage. Apart from the very bad front brakes on these things, bad ball joints, bad rear end problems, and overall bad mileage, I wonder why I still even have the truck at all. Mind you I've tried to sell it twice for less than book and no bites at all. And it only has 80,000 miles. All in all, its cost me quite a bit of cash to maintain this vehicle.

My driver side window did the same thing on my '00 R/T Club Cab. I took the whole window assembly apart, inspected and "re-aligned" it. It still was sluggish going up and down except when the glass was wet. Saw a post about 6 months ago about using silicone spray. Works like a champ! Now every time I change my oil, I give it a quick spray down in the lower track rubber. Heck, the OE shop manual mentions using silicone on rubber weatherstripping and other seals, so why not?

Mine did that also and eventually "ripped" the hardware off the window itself. I replaced the rubber that lined the metal tracks and it got better. I believe it has to do with the "fuzz" wearing off the rubber tracks and causing a squeege effect that is actually grabbing the window when it is dry (hence the ease of sliding when wet).

I have tried the the silicone and within weeks the slowness came back as if the silicone wasn't even there. At this point, the little white rollers in my window hardware are wasted and they are not replaceable other than replacing whole regulator assembly via stealership at something like $179.00 per side. My passenger side is starting to slow now also.
