Subject: running a little hot and no heat IP: Logged
Message: let me start by saying that my heater doesnt work and i dont know when it quit so i check the coolant level and it is all sludgy and rusty. so i flush the system out and have heat. the next day i drain the radiator out and refill and now i dont have heat. so i drain and flush it again and now the motor is running warm. im almost sure i have no air in the system. now i have no heat and the engine is running warm.
when i run water through the heater core, water does come out the other side but when the engine is running only one side of the heater hose gets hot. could this be a water pump or thermostat problem?

Message: You still have air in the system.
You probably also should replace the thermostat. If you had sludge in the system, the thermostat is probably shot. Be sure and drill a 3/16" in the base plate, then the system will purge easily.

Message: i also have a t from a flush kit in one of my heater core lines and when i take the cap off and start the engine nothing comes out of the line. could this be a weak water pump that is causing me not to have heat?
