Subject: Clutch fan removal IP: Logged
Message: So
Quick referance. What will my electrical fan do now that I have the clutch fan removed. I ran it all weekend like that, and the temp stayed down. Will my electrical fan kick on at a certian temp, how does it operate, and what things will I need to watch for with the clutch fan removed?

Message: the electric fans comes on as follows:
demand for a/c and engine temmp above 130 degF
or
engine temp @ 210 degF.
if you don't like that, some people have wired in an adjustable temp switch that you can buy at the auto parts store for about 20 bucks and set it where you'd like.

Message: daddio,
would that also apply to the 5.9 auto with a/c? I think my clutch fan is on it's way to the garbabe can.

Message: not all dak's have the electric fan. Mine did because of the tow package I think. If you don't have one, you will have to add one (preferable two) electric fans. I made a electronic fan control for mine. It reads the water temp sensor by tapping into the factory wiring.Clean and better than those silly things pushed into the radiator :p

Message: I removed my clutch fan ohhhh, about a month ago I think and so far no probs. I live in north fla. and drove to Jacksonville (130 miles from my driveway oneway) and around J-ville, idling at redlights and whatnot and so far so good. Haven`t towed anything yet but until then...
