Message: LOL my truck will win against an R/T. I have a 1996 Dak 2wd v8 5.2. That 5.2 leans you back into the seat pretty good when the torque almost immediately kicks in. No, a 4.7 WILL NOT beat a 5.9L unless it is built up. 4.7 revvs higher but is basically out of it's torque curve past 5,500. Trust me, I have a 2002 Dak too with the 4.7. My 5.2 is noticeably quicker. But then again, my 96 is lighter than the 02.

Message: Mmmm the battle continues. I just test drove a '99 R/T CC and I have to say I was kind of disappointed. But with 4 people in it and being a club cab it still was way better than my truck. I guess I was just expecting more out of it. First time I drove one. Drove my dad's 4.7 4wd which I think does pretty good for it's self and I have my 4x4 3.9. Would love to have an R/T but it would have to be a Reg Cab.

Message: The 5.9 in stock form is not that great as I've said before but if
you are planning on building it up it is a sweet engine that can
take some serious power without blowing up. If your not the
type of person to do some cam, head, or power adder work then
get a 4.7 and save the cash. There is no reason for a battle
unless someone can prove that I am wrong using solid facts
instead of "my dads 4.7 is faster than your dads 5.9."
