If the condition no longer exists, the code will turn itself off, but it'll take some time. Has to complete a number of drive cycles before reset, and you could be waiting a long time if the condition remains.
The best way is to clear it yourself. Then you will know soon after if the condition still exists, because the Check Engine light will come on again.

prob the hoses by the canister. been seeing alot of newer daks and durangos needing a hose kit that consists of a few elbows etc to replace cracking ones

I have 2003 dakota 4.7L 4x4 ext cab and this code has popped up twice (40k miles & 73k miles), both times it was the hoses that connect to the canister had cracks.
