The Dakota has bearings made in China in the AC pump. My 99 was replaced twice while still on warrenty. Second one at 30,000 . I now have 70,000 on it. There is no way to tell the life> I wouldn't buy one from the dealer knowing about the china bearings. I'd buy one rebuilt in the USA hoping for bearings from Japan or USA

So many problems .... So little time

Exactly my point. No way to tell how long it will go. But I stick to buying remanufactured over OEM because of those bearings. This is one of the very few items I prefer rebuild to new.

So many problems .... So little time

Well, I ended up getting one off fleabay with supposedly 32k miles. It seems to be a crap-shoot on longevity, so we'll see.
