Hi, last year I had a 97 4X4 V6 Dakota, It was a good truck but a little under powered, I sold if for what I bought it for and now I miss it, I now want a 4X4 4 door dakota with a v8. What I need to know is your opinion an what is better 360, 4.3 or the other one, forgot what it is, and a year recamandation would be nice too. I would like to stay under $15,000.00

Mine's an '03
I honelstly was looking for a 360 (5.9) but they didn't make them anymore in my model from what the dealer told me.
I got the 4.7 (not a 4.3, that's a Chebby!)
It has a surprising amount of power. Not as much as a 5.9 but at least what a 318 makes (even at low GRUNT RPM's) and with a longer power band to boot.
If you find one (used) and the deal is right, it don't matter WHAT V8 is in it. They are all good and you will like it.

I bought a 99 R/T 360 with only 26K for well under $15k, new condition, also have 01 Durango with 4.7L, great motor, better MPG than the 360 almost as much power but not as much fun. LOL either way.

I have a 4x4 qc 4.7 dak sport w around 69000 on it and a 100,000 mile warranty. white with brand new sensatrac shocks (not installed) K&N air filter.
I owe 16,500 and want what i owe for it?
And i am thinking of getting rid of it if interested?

I have a 2000 4-door 4x4 sport with the 5.9 and I absolutely love it. My only complaint is the gas mileage doesn't get much better than 15 even if I behave myself. I don't drive it everyday so it's ok for me. I can't speak for the 4.7 but I agree with Graphite, I'd just look for a good deal on a used 2nd Gen that you like no matter which V-8 it has.

i have a 02 qc 4.7, brand new tires, tonneau cover, 2" blocks with about 39k on it, there is a small dent in the drivers side of the box not much to have fixed, would be willing to sell for the 16k area, you can e mail me at jbrewst5@nycap.rr.com and i can take some pics and send them to ya
