Message: Yeah those videos are pretty funny. I liked how most of those sh1t boxes have no chance against a heavy ass dodge.
BTW what was the full timeslip for the ram..Like 60' 1/8mile time and mph, and 1/4 mile speed.
Once that things in tune I can see it into the 13 easily!

Message: going to drop the pan either today or this week after work one day.
time slip for the other week for the 14.432
1/4 mile is:
i1 : 2.221
i2 : 6.079
i3 : 9.282
mph (i3) 76.162
i4 : 11.991
e.t. : 14.432
mph : 95.439
dont know what the ( i ) are i think they are the 60' and so on.
i think for some reason the torque converter is locking up once in third gear. after the oil problems fixed that will be one of the next. it would be cool to get a stall converter
also tryed to turn boost to 10psi. almost seemed for some reason to be not as peppy as the 8psi. im thinking the hot section of the turbo might be too small and not moving the extra air as easy!

Message: Well today rammer got his oil screen fixed. new pump installed and I helped him button it up today. We had some problems tuning and for some reason the damn thing was boosting 11 or so PSI! It popped a few times. Probably enough that the stock gaskets would have blown for sure. Shortly after the bottom end started to rattle nd squeak so we babied it home. It made us mad because it was running so good before. I can only think he had an intake tube leak at the air hat and this time it sealed better and had more boost! we never got a chance to turn the waste gate down. Now we need to drop his pan and see what it looks like :(

At least it will go over his wifes head a little bit, since he needs a CRANK and RODS anyway!
At least we can find more for his 318 than my 4.7

Learning this way is half the fun. Luckily it's not MY truck.
I'll tell you one thing. We have talked to several different people running turbo's on anything from a 360 to a new Hemi. And each one of them witll tell you different ways on how to tune these things!
One of Rammer's mistakes may have been taking advice and buying them injectors from AMP motorsports. (Mustang 5.0 performance guys. As seen on PINKS Racing show!!!).
Ford's are different than Dodge as far as EFI goes.

Message: Quicker out of the hole. That's for certain.
In the 1/4 would depend on how that puts your power. On a 318 with the wussy 5,000 rev limiter, you'd be going through gears pretty quick. Rammer has 4.10's and with the wussy limiter, he pegs it all the time if he dares to shift maually.
That limiter was stupid on them 318's.
I have heard that the earlier 318 Dak's like yours were about the fastest out of the bunch. Them new Hemi's (when stock) are a disappointment. They are lucky to run in the 15's on a 2WD.

for ron
i have a set of shorty headers for the 318-360 if intrested!
i rolled in all new rod and main bearings this weekend. havent got a chance to start it up yet. the crank doesnt look bad at all. just as long as it holds til tax returns!
then i will be looking for a 360 block to go with the 408 stroker.

Message: Hey Thank You All For The Advice.Much Appreciated! My Dakota is an extended cab but is still pretty fast.I've topped it out also at about 135mph and didn't know if I could push it any more with breakin somethin.
For rammer, I might have to get back to you on those headers.I'm still using the stock exaust but up by the headers is kinda custom made cause of the lowered suspension. It only sits about 3inches off the ground in the front.Should I run some daul-exaust on it? Everyone I know that works on cars says it'd be awsome with some duals on it.Thanks Again!!
