Has anyone done a rear disc conversion to a 97 5.2 dak? If so, what did you use? Where did you get it? Is it worth it?

I havent done one, looked into it and some places to get it are as follows.

www.ssbc.com $700 kit
www.tsmmfg.com $400-500 kit which uses parts from old cadillacs

I bought an unused SSBC kit for a '97 Dak and installed it on my '01 RC with 9.25 LSD. The braking performance improvement was more dramatic than I expected. One step in the instructions than was skipped was messing with the master cylinder. I kept it as is. Brake fluid was bled, of course. Seek professional help for this conversion to avoid headaches.

did one from ssbc on my 2001 quad cab. mediocre satisfaction. parking break cable does not tighten up enough to get effective use of parking brake. terrible squeal in reverse when cold. can't see, feel, or measure any breaking improvement. looks cool and sets your dak apart if you keep the deficiencies to yourself. current pricing.....$700.00, you decide.
