Message: if you move the spare(possibly to the bed or tailgate)you may be able to fit a 10-12 gal. fuel cell in between the frame rails. then with a little electrical and plumbing work, you'd have a nice size aux. fuel tank.

Message: Well the truck is extra cab,i already have tons of jerry cans and the spare tire is on the rack on top and no longer under the truck. If i have to add a fuel cell i can but would prefer one big tank,so i can have my normal gas gauge and my digital gas gauge both on the same tank.

Message: i don't know if it will fit but, the GenIII QC's were available with a 24 gal. tank. my '00 has the 24 gal. tank. not much more than 22 and probably not worth the hassle.
you could try these guys:

Message: you know what ive been on that site before and didnt see anything that would fit but that was a while back and its a good site so i shot them an e-mail right now and will see what they say, thanks for the info Daddio any type of lead is worth chasing and when you post here you can usually count on someone giving you an idea.i went to another site called aero tanks or something like that where they claim to make any tank to custom specs so i shot em an e-mail told them what truck i got and the response a week later said "we do not make tanks for those trucks" so much for custom tanks to any specs.

Message: (Heres how).I cut, bend, fab and weld up a gas tank then pressure test it and install it in the truck, now with my luck i will be cruising down Last Chance Canyon five miles offroad and a seam on the tank will split....gas will then trickle down to a positive wire near the frame that came loose and is now grounding out..the gas hits the wire.... the wire sparks and here i am at the pearly gates trying to explain why i was trying to build my own gas tank.Thats how

Message: Just a thought. I had a '92 5.2 Dak with a dinky factory 15 gallon tank. The best I remember, the thing was almost square in shape. There should be plenty of them in the boneyards.

Go to the salvage yard with approx measurements and you could find a spare PLASTIC gas tank and make a mount for it and maybe even add a second filler neck and door to the passenger side (or rear of the left side) for the second tank.
The only thing is finding which salvage yards KEEP the tanks. Some salvage yards rip open the fuel tanks first thing to get rid of any gas before they start hacking them apart or even put them on the lot for parts picking. So you have to call around.
Many tanks will even have an internal FUEL PUMP. So, screw the gauge on the second tank. When the first one is low use a switch to TRANSFER gas from the second tank to the first one :)

Message: Thats always do-able because there are places in the Parts trader that sell dodge stuff boneyard style. But the reason i thought of a larger tank was that i got a digital gas gauge cause my existing gauge was bouncing all over the place but so is the digital one because there are no baffles in this plastic tank,so i figured i would kill two birds with one stone and have a custom tank fabbed up and get poss an extra twenty gals plus set it up with baffles that will allow my digital gauge to work without bouncing, but now it looks like i might just have to pony up and just get a new fuel-pump/sending unit at 260.00 to go into my old tank to atleast have one accurate gauge, while i look around for someone that can build me one the way i want.

Message: My suggestion would be to add a second fuel tank where the spare tire was. Go to a junk yard and pick yourself up a tank, gauge and filler neck + door from a dodge B250. mount that tank in where the spare tire was and run the filler neck out the rear drivers side of the box (approx the same spot as the filler would be on the van). run your fuel pump wires and plumbing. i was considering changing my exhaust to true duels and was talking with a buddy. he suggested i get this setup and take my saddle tank off. the b250 tank would mount right in that spot with the only problem being to add tank straps and a fuel door.
