Subject: idle surge/tranny problem? IP: Logged
Message: Before my truck (2001 quad cab - 4x4 - 4.7 - 93k miles) is fully warmed up the tranny skips/surges while it shifts and even after it is warm it downshifts too hard.
Also my idle will surge up and down (especially with the A/C on) and it's funny but it seems it is worse on humid days... Any ideas? Thanks

Message: remove the wire conector from the tps sensor its the white plug behind the crapy plastic intake plentum then remove the two torque screws on either side of the tps sensor you should see a o ring on the back this may be where the problem is i made a new paper gasket and then reinstalled the o ring for good messure and then reinstalled my tps i must say i was saving my money for a new tranny but this was all i needed to do i also changed my tranny filter just for preventative maintenence i can now go for a drive and leave the caa card at home and love my dodge as any dodge should be loved give it a shot youl be happy you did i was.
