Greg, it's hard to put a difficulty level or price tag on it. Difficulty would depend on your skill level. i haven't done it before but, personally i don't think it would be that difficult.

the thing that i think would be most difficult to do is fabrication. without the necessary tools (i.e. welder, torch, etc..) you would have to farm that out.

you could try to find a couple of shops in your area that specialize in custom auto work and explain to them what you want, they may be able to come up with a price for you. be careful who you choose. research as much as possible before you attempt tackling a project like this. because even for the experienced person, you never can be too prepared.

I don't think you will find anyone here that has had that done for them. Most here are DIY oriented with the exception of the few that thought if you couldn't buy it it couldn't be done.

I can tell you this much, to have a professional job done, it would cost you more than a complete truck.

First place to get all your ducks in a row would be to shop the junk yards.

I'v ebeen sitting on my 4.7 Duster project for a year now. I'll go through spells not doing anything on it, like right now because I'm doing something else, my ATV.

But at times I'll come acrossed several things I needed and gettting lucky don't hurt.

I bought a 2000 manual tranny PCM for $80 at a junk yard. Got the engine wiring harness from a guy on this website.
My 4.7 was damaged and I had to find rods. I bought a set of stock rods and pistons from a guy on another website.

The stuff is out there and you have to keep asking around for parts.

I have several pictures of my engine here ---->
