Message: Your rpm's are the same, whether you are towing or not. You might want to rephrase your question so that we know what you want.

Message: if your rpms are at 2300 towing than you have nothing to fear. my trucks rpms are at 2300rpm at 75mph. if that is the case the motor isn't even straining.

Message: Ideally, you want the rpm's the be just on the back side of the torque curve. That's where the engine will be most efficicent. It will make good torque, and still leaves you room to accelerate.
Try and find a dyno curve for your engine - they vary from year to year - and that will be fairly close.

Message: You may seem to be revving a bit when towing as the 4.7 doesn't usually go into overdrive except for low load situations like downhill, but don't sweat it. I've pulled about 5500 on big NH hills with your combination in July with the AC on with no issues. I have lower gears now; but the 3.55's did fine. Have fun !

Message: get some 4.10s. that will help you use all four gears while towing and because you may not have to keep in drive. the increased leverage in the rear should put your rpms to 2000 at 60 mph (five speed auto) instead of about 1700 with your 3.55's.
