Subject: Fuel Injection Cleaning? IP: Logged
Message: My truck is a 2wdxcab 5.2 with 160,000 kms.
Notice loss of power and poorer gas milage. The truck has never had the fuel injectors cleaned. Would this help? And what would be a proper cleaning technique? Any help much appreciated.

Message: A can of seafoam in the gas tank filled with 15 gal of gas for the initial injector cleaning. Then a large bottle (for 20 gal. tank) of Chevron "techron" fuel injector cleaner in the tank after every oil change.

Message: I dont see why you cant use more seafoam. Perhaps someone will chime in and offer some feedback. I personally use the seafoam treatment once a year, followed by the bottle of techron after each oil change. 125,000 miles on my 99 5.2 motor with no injector problems. Just my $.02

Message: Seafoam clears up a lot of my issues that are the result of dirty/poor quality gas. I highly recommend it. If your injectors have never been cleaned, it may take more than one application, but Seafoam is some pretty strong stuff, and you should notice improvements after the first tank.
