Subject: What is the deal with Mustang Owners?
IP: Logged

Message:
Today I pulled up to a light and this guy in a Mustang pulled up beside me and started revving up at me, then the light went green and we took off. He paced me until I hit 75mph, then I was gone. But the question is why do Mustang owners think they can outrun everything on the road?

I like to think if you buy a car that has a proformance history you have some justification. If nothing else mustangs give a decent way of gauging our trucks. I got into it with a Saleen and he got me. Just wait for the M1 and ram air in 2 or three weeks.

    Was it a v6 stang?

I been desperately tryin to find a v8 dak on a college kid's 7.25/hr budget--not much luck yet except ones with a TON of miles, but I will find it soon enough. Anyway can you tlel me what kinda mileage you pull with those mods? I gotta get automatic tranny for my audio competition needs, but I'm worried bout mileage since I'll be stepping into this from a toyota corolla :D

If you are worried about mileage You will not be happy with a Dakota V6 or V8, You will pass everthing but the pump.

    Hey Man.....

Ricers do the same thing to me.

    I have a 4.7 5-speed 3:92's.

I also own a 91 LX Coupe Mustang. Bone stock in 97 it ran 14.30's at 92mph. Several years and some bolt-ons later, it runs 13's. My Dakota in stock form with the exception of a flowmaster and lakewood traction bars runs 14.8 @ 91. I don't rev my Stang on Dak's....

Dicks come in all shapes and sizes, and drive anything. When they rev on you. Give them some ear candy back...Then let it rip. Just think of how they feel if you lay the smack down on them!

    Don't feel bad Justin.

I have a buddy with a Vortech blown 'Stang that gets hounded by his other 5 liter counter-parts. Let me tell you...90% of the time, those other guys don't even need to be messing with his car, but since they drive a 'Stang they feel the need to show their "muscle." LOL!

Hello? A Stealth is "rice"! Entire drivetrain is all Mitusbishi.

If ya got to have a second car for speed that don't cost a lot and will do the trick with out a lot of mods, if any, you need this:

    BAD A$$ Ride

It's RICE but it's bad, and when ya think your DAK is bad line up on one of these.

I forgot to mention, it is naturally aspirated, 50/50 weight distribution and for those that can't convert KW in HP, 184 KW = 250 HP.
Curb weight of the car is a little over 2300#'s and the engine for the cubies is 79 yes 79 cubic inches or 1.3 Liters for the modern folks. Looking at Maxda's preliminary tests with turbo it will @ 8#'s boost develop around 380 hp. thats at half the weight of your DAK. So if ya don't want your feelin's hurt leave these little RICE WASPS alone.

The RX-8 is definitely a badass car. Anytime you can get a ratio near 100HP/1000lbs you've got a vehicle that can demolish the competition. The rotary engines always make mad HP for their size. The only thing they really lack is the TQ. Then again, it's not meant to carry heavy loads. The only thing it hauls is it own ass (and very quickly).

Yes...You can get that 4.7 5-speed into the 14's with just about nothing.

Mine is a regular cab, but I've heard of a couple of guys running 14's with club cabs with little to no mods.

Add forced induction, and look out Lightning!
'03 Cobra maybe with supercharger, nitrous , and lots of weight removed.

At any rate, these are potent little trucks.
    A 454SS didn't put down those numbers.
