Can anyone help me locate the Thermostat on a Dodge Dakota 2001 V8 4.7 liter?

Also if you know of a site that has an illustion or picture of its location on that model, that would be 1000X helpful. I have read alot on here for its location, but I just cant seem to find it, please take in mind that I am just starting to learn about self repair on my autos.

Thank you again

Remove the plastic splash gaurd from under the truck.

Remove the two 8mm headed bolts.

Gasket? Gasket??? We don't need no stinkin' GASKET!!!

It's actually a rubber type ring that fits around the t-stat. It is reusable many times over.

You can make a standard 180* t-stat fit with ease.

With a slight modification.

Here are all of my pictures from when I changed my t-stat. ---> http://www.paysonarizona.net/MyProjects/ProjectDak/Project_Dakota_06_T-StatSwap.htm
It's been almost 3 years and no problems!
