what are some mods I can do to my 88 dak w/ a 3.9?
I just put a new motor in it with headers.What else can I throw at it that will give me more hp?

pretty much the same things you can do to a LA
motor
cam,roller rockers,port tbi,port and polish heads,mill the heads,electric fan etc etc

Ok sorry to tell you that the pre mag motors will never get you anywhere for hp unless you just have money to waste. I have a 88 also and my motor is about shot so im going to go with a v8 swap still spending about 3000 but more hp overall for the money so buy another truck and put a v8 in it. My truck is a 3sp auto no overdrive.
My mods are as follow:
1 Smog pump air box whatever you know it as remove it. (check your inspection laws im in oklahoma we dont have any)
2 Buy a air intake for a 94-00 dodge ram it works on the truck dont worry about the computer its ok.
3 Exhaust is cat removed with 2.5 in place of it then into 3in and into the flow 40 and then dumped in front of axle. Go with a turbo muffler not as loud.
4 Removed spare tire and hardware also rear bumper fiberglass roll pan.
5 8.25 rear end out of a od truck with 3.92 over my old 3.21 no top speeds or highway use i use this truck for the city
6 Electric fan dont use a switch i left mine on so many times.
7 Bucket seats from a 73 duster
8 New wheels ar767 15x8 with 245/65x15 all the way around.

that's cool.
Yes..I should have went w/ a v8.But the v6 actually runs pretty damn good.It has to have a lower gear than a 3.21.It's geared really low .
Doubt if I'll ever find any duster seats :)Would be sweet.
