what is the difference in the two. Would the turbo off the cummings engine not fit a 3.9? they are both v6.

cummins is an inline 6 not v.
cummins is 5.9 liters not 3.9.
i would say no, way to much for the 3.9
try to find a 78 - 80 buick regal turbo 3.8 in the boneyards

that TB0301 off the 78-81 regal would work but a better choice would be a T3/4 off of a later GN or even go buy a TB04
