Message: '02 V6 SLT.
Had a couple days of cool, foggy weather where I had to use the defogger. Today, it warmed back up and when I put the A/C on, my climate controls no longer work - i.e., I'm getting air and the blower works fine, but the only air that I'm getting is to the defroster. All the air is going to the windshield and the two vents on the dash that direct air to the side windows, no matter what I set it to.
Ideas, anybody? I did a search, btw, and only found one very old post. Oh, yeah - the warranty just ran out 479 miles ago (of course!).

Message: Here's an update on this problem -
I checked everything that I could see, and found no loose vacuum hoses or broken flapper hinges, etc. Talked to the dealer, and he said he'd "probably" fix it under warranty - even though the warranty had expired several hundred miles ago.
Took them the truck Monday afternoon, and they've had it ever since. Dealer told me yesterday afternoon that they'd found the problem, had to order parts, and that DCX's warranty wouldn't cover it. Extended warranty also wouldn't cover it - so why'd I buy the danged thing?
Called the dealer again this afternoon. Why don't they ever call the customer? Why make them fret over what's going on? Anyway, parts didn't come in, and they won't get to it until tomorrow - IF the parts come in. BUT - the service manager talked to the extended warranty folks (TotalCare), and now they're going to cover it.
I still don't know exactly what parts they had to order, and my biggest worries now are: 1) whether they'll really get it fixed (bad experiences with this dealer in the past with other vehicles) and 2) whether they'll get everything in the dash put back together nice and tight or whether it's going to rattle for the rest of the truck's natural life!
WHY CAN'T DCX GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER WITH THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENTS?

Message: $565.64; dealer replaced the box. The plastic hinges had broken on it. TotalCare covered it all. GLAD that I bought that; still have 63,000 miles to recoup the rest of my investment!
