I've heard when that sensor goes bad, your engine doesn't run...period. Not sure if that's true, but that's what I heard.

yeah if the sensor goes bad, you get NO spark. the PCM won't know where the crank is, and can't set your timing...

I will hopefully be doing this mod tomorrow...I've got the sensor modified and ready to go on, just waiting for my friend to get new plastic fasteners for me so I can put my inner fender back on. I gotta remember to put the camera's batteries on the charger as well...it's dead enough it'll run out part way through the installation.

Sensor is in...I ran out of daylight when I did the mod so I only got one pic before it got dark and we were using flashlights. Plus some neighbor girls came to watch and we totally forgot about it. I went in through my inner wheel well and it was fairly easy...the hardest part was removing/installing the screws because the heat shield was sharp as hell and we kept hitting our hands on it. My friend who helped me do it works at a GM dealership and he hooked me up with some plastic fasteners that are removable/reusable and don't require cutting them apart and the best part was they were over 50% cheaper than the OEM ones that required being cut off. Anyway...the point of that is, I can easily remove my inner fender, so I may go within the next day or so and take enough pics to post a how-to for everyone who hasn't done it and wants to see pics. I know the demand is there.

I have the how-to done and written up...as of right now it's only written in a Word document (.doc) but I will convert it to a webpage later and make some corrections and stuff. Drop me a message or email (GB2000@woh.rr.com) anyone wanting it as-is...I'll make a new thread when it's been put into it's own webpage. I'm going to go get some sleep, but I'll send it out sometime tonight or early tomorrow.
