Hey all. I have a 98CC that has 288k on it (no rebuilds). My tranny is finally starting to get fussy. When it is cool, it shifts fine, but when the vehicle is at operating temp. It starts to shift very hard out of 2nd into 3rd. (i actually have to let off or else it doesnt want to shift. What could be the culprit? The tranny fluid has been replaced throughout the life of it every 60k or less. I just replaced it again as a matter of fact after this started to happen. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nic J.

it's sounding like your pump isnt generating enough pressure to shift, or maybe your valve body gasket is leaking pressure over. Time for a rebuild.

you went wrong when you got an automatic. the auto transmissions in dodge trucks are pretty much garbage. but it sounds like you got plenty of miles out of it.

Hey Dutch,

You're right of course.
Fords, GMs, etc., they never need automatic tranny work, it's a freakin' miracle.

I just realized i put 288K for the mileage when i meant 188k. I do agree with the whole auto tranny thing but you have to take what you can get. All the miles on that truck are mine and my dads, i didnt buy it with that many on it.
