Subject: Stock 4x4 tires IP: Logged
Message: I am in need of some new tires. '95 club cab 4x4. I do alot of pavement driving as well as considerable off-road driving. I currently have some futura dakota (cooper tires) and they were quiet ride and performed decent off road, but did not last as long as they should.
I am considering the following tires:
uniroyal laredo cross country
bf goodwrench all terrain TA KO
dunlop radial rover RT
anyone here have a preference? Any other tires I should be considering?

Message: I just replaced my stock good-years to BF Goodrich Long Trails. Not as agressive as the BF All Terrains you had mentioned, but get much better tread wear, and cost a lot less. Very quiet on the road, handle and brake well. They are rated very good in snow. I have about 4000 miles on them so far and am very satisfied. Would definetly recommend these tires for quality, performance, and price. Forgot to mention I paid $127 a tire. I am currently running 265/70/16's

Message: Personally I would go for the BF All Terrains. Put them on my girls Jeep Cherrokee about 45000 mls ago. Very little signs of wear rotated once. Just put them on my 02 Dakota (rears) V6 excab 5spd 4x4, No wheel spin in wet weather on step grades like the Wranglers that came on it. Had the same tire on a 81 diesel Scout 4x4 and loved them. Just waiting for the front on the Dak to wear out so I can do the fronts 55000 on the front and never rotated, at least the Wrangler wore good. Ersonal opinion the Dakotas need a tire rated as an LT tire.
