Can anyone help.. I got a 98 v6 3.9 with 192k every time i accelerate i get this bad shake or even a back fire. when it idle its not like it used to sound... i changed the pluges, wires, and rotor cap, and its still not it.. all my sensor are good said the scanner! can anyone help this probleme is getting worse and worse every day......thanks

Have you checked your plenum gasket. If it was really bad it could cause some of those symptoms. You should also do a compression check on your cylinders may have a burnt valve.

you may also want to check the plastic busing on the top of the distributor plate. If that comes loose (plastic bolts shear off) then it really messes with the fuel sync. Also want to check the drive gear on the camshaft that drives the distibutor. If that is badly worn and there is play between those gears, the same thing can happen.

I'm having a similiar problem. I'm almost sure it's a mechanical problem. I hope I know later this week after I work on it.

i worked on today and 5 plugs are still nice and white and one was BLACK...it turns out that it sparks so we were thinking the injector?...do they break commonly ...if yes whats the price range on one of those

They do fail.

injectors and will give you an overall smother
running motor with mid and top end gains
